System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), now known as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)
This software helps system administrators manage servers and workstations in large Active Directory environments by enabling centralized management of resources and systems. It offers a wide range of functions, such as installing and uninstalling applications, configuring network and application parameters, and deploying patches and updates. SCCM also supports running scripts, deploying operating systems, remote control, patch management, task automation, application distribution, hardware and software inventory, compliance management, and security policy administration—making it an essential tool for various tasks within complex corporate IT environments.
SCCM is an on-premises solution, but Microsoft also offers a cloud-native client management suite called Intune. Both Intune and SCCM are part of the Microsoft Endpoint Manager umbrella.
